Casual internal self-racism with Telco commercial
Because people who can speak mandarin are perceived as lower class in Singapore
NETS previously did a casual racism adverising campaign with the use of brown face painting.
Now SingTel, is doing something slightly similar, that I think can be called internal self-racism.
Two chinese person (one anglicised chinese with english name, and the other portrayed by patricia mok with chinese name.). The one speaking some words in mandarin has to be portrayed to be the "less expertised" / "less skillful" one of the two.
